Norcem with its largest contract ever

05 Apr 2016

Norcem and the Spanish-Italian contractor consortium Acciona Ghella JV (AGJV), responsible for the TBM contract in the Follo Line Project, recently reached an agreement for the cement supplies. The contract signed means delivery of 280.000 tons cement over a three-years’ period and is Norcem’s largest contract ever.

General Manager in HeidelbergCement Northern Europe and Managing Director in Norcem Mr Gunnar Syvertsen is very pleased with the agreement.

– This is a milestone for Norcem and HeidelbergCement. We will deliver a record large order that will put great demands on both production and logistics. Many in our organization have worked hard over the past year and contributed to finalizing this agreement and we look forward to starting the supplies later this month.

- We are delighted to have signed the major cement contract with Norcem and HeidelbergCement. They presented the best offer and has the necessary capacity to supply the quantities we need, says project director Fernando Vara in AGJV.

The Follo Line Project is currently the largest transport project in Norway. The project consists of a 22 km new double track railway line between Oslo Central Station and the new station at Ski, south of Oslo. Acciona Ghella Joint Venture will on behalf of Jernbaneverket construct the main part (18, 5 km) of the 20 km long tunnel, which will be Scandinavia’s longest when it is finalised at the end of 2021.
